Original solo fretless banjo.
The title refers to the rare earthstar puffball Myriostoma coliforme, a unique fungus that grows worldwide in sandy soil at the edge of old-growth woodland. Unlike other earthstars which have only one opening for the spores to escape, the curious architecture of Myriostoma always has multiple openings, and multiple stalks support the spore sac. The two earthstars that I drew in colored pencil for the album cover were found under a Netleaf Oak in lower Madera Canyon in the autumn of 2019.
