about

Acoustic strings, handmade percussion, and field recordings.

DANCE AND THE PATH WILL APPEAR: Fretless banjo trance tune for dancing in the monsoon rain.

MIDSUMMER DESERT CICADAS: Fretless banjo evokes the high summer triple-digit heat with cicadas, Tibetan singing bowls, circular saw blade gongs, abandoned water tank drum, turtle shell rattle. Cicadas are Cacama valvata, the "cactus dodger", recorded in the northern Santa Rita Mountains south of Tucson, May 2016.

CAT SHRINE: Soothing feline healing guitar tune with brass bells, yowls from black cat Leon, cat purrs from Leon, Horace, Reginald, Yin, Impy, and Smally.

SLEEPY BLACK CAT: Acoustic bass and guitar lullaby for black cat Impy.

SINGING STONE: Stone ocarina carved by Whittaker Freegard, 1995, made from a flint pebble out of the Cretaceous chalk, Salisbury, England.

FEATHERS: Guitar (1973 Kiso Suzuki F-250) speaks of wings on the winter rain with rattle made from scraps of folded sheet steel.

WINTER CRANES: Sandhill cranes recorded at Whitewater Draw, southern Arizona, January 2017.
